Let
the Lawsuits Begin

The Supreme Court's recent ruling on the Second Amendment being an individual right merely confirmed what the American public already knew. The ruling also proclaimed that the Second Amendment, just as the first, was not completely without regulation. This is the new focal point for the gun-rights movement. Anti-gun organizations will continue to push for more gun control claiming that anything other than a total ban is within the limits of legality. Federal legsilation (S. 2577) has already been introduced to ban private sales of firearms at gun shows. Another bill (S. 2605) would require microstamping on all semi-automatic ammunition. An anti-gun President, such as Barack Obama, combined with a Democratic majority in Congress would all but guarantee a plethora of anti-gun bills. Expect federal regulations to include: One a month purchases, 10-day waiting periods, licenses, magazine capacity restrictions, and some kind of creative ban on certain semi-automatic firearms. Congress will probably proclaim that semi-automatic rifles are "unusual and out of the ordinary." And that's not the worst of it. The 5-4 decision by the Supreme Court could mean a re-challenging of the ruling if our next President were to appoint anti-gun judges during his next term. If that were to happen, we could lose everything we've gained. Our First Amendment rights to freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of religion have very few restrictions. The final phrase of the Second Amendment, "shall not be infringed" is very clear. Expect anti-gun politicians to ignore it. Anti-gunners will dream up the most oppressive gun laws they think they can get away with and dub them, "reasonable." To a gun-banner, "reasonable" is anything that stands between you and your gun. This is a government of the people, for the people, and by the people. If anti-gun officials continue to impose their views over the will of the people, we will fight back. Rather than wait for the next election, file a lawsuit. Slap the government with lawsuit after lawsuit until they get the message that, in America, politicians are nothing more than servants to the public.
